MatePad T8: New 8-inch budget tablet from Huawei


Huawei's MatePad tablet line has acquired a new member as the company announced the MatePad T8. The new 8ʺ tablet will be a budget choice.

Huawei has launched a new display in its tablet range, which revealed the MatePad T8. This is the second tablet of this year's MatePad series to be unveiled, following the recent announcement of MatePad 10.4. As its name suggests, the MatePad T8 is an 8-inch tablet, which is intended for the economy class. Let's get to know her better.

The 8ʺ screen of the new Huawei MatePad T8 is IPS technology with a resolution of 1280 × 800 and covers 80% of the front. On the front we also find the 2MP selfie camera. The main camera of the device offers 5MP resolution with auto focus.


Inside the device we find the octa-core MT8768 processor from MediaTek. This particular chipset consists of 4 Cortex-A53 cores at 2.0GHz and 4 Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz. The chip comes with 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD cards. Features are complemented by the 5,100mAh battery.

Huawei MatePad T8 software is EMUI 10.0.1, which is based on Android 10. As with other recent Huawei devices, such as the P40 Pro, this comes without Google Play Services. Instead, the tablet uses Huawei Mobile Services and AppGallery as an app store.
